Buyer Challenges & Solutions

High-volume manufacturers face three persistent welding challenges: labor cost and skill scarcity (experienced welders are hard to find and expensive), quality inconsistency (manual welding produces part-to-part variation that fails quality audits), and throughput ceilings (manual welding speed is limited by human endurance). The automated robotic arm fiber laser welding system solves all three by replacing manual operation with a 6-axis robot that repeats weld paths with ±0.05mm precision, runs 24/7 without breaks, and produces identical weld quality on every part.

For manufacturers supplying automotive OEMs and other tier-1 customers who demand PPAP documentation and statistical process control, the robotic system provides traceable, repeatable weld data via the Schneider Electric CNC controller.

Product Description

The Xinhong automated robotic arm fiber laser welding machine integrates a 2000W IPG/RAYCUS fiber laser source with a 6-axis industrial robot arm for fully automated welding of complex 3D joint geometries. The robot achieves 5mm penetration in stainless steel and 4mm in aluminum with ±0.05mm path repeatability. The system includes a vision-based seam tracking system that adapts the weld path in real time to compensate for part-to-part variation. The fully enclosed safety cell with interlocked doors and laser-safe viewing windows meets European CE safety standards. A Schneider Electric Modicon M241 PLC manages robot coordination, laser parameter control, and production data logging via Ethernet.

Key Features

6-Axis Robot

The 6-axis robot arm reaches complex 3D joint geometries that fixed gantry systems cannot access-welding around corners, inside cavities, and on contoured surfaces in a single setup.

Seam Tracking

Vision-based seam tracking adjusts the weld path in real time to compensate for part-to-part variation in stamping, casting, or forming tolerances-no manual teach-in for every part.

Safety Cell

Fully enclosed safety cell with interlocked doors and laser-safe viewing windows contains laser radiation and sparks-meeting CE workplace safety requirements for unattended operation.

24/7 Production

The robot runs continuously without operator fatigue or breaks-doubling or tripling throughput compared to manual welding while maintaining identical quality on every part.

Data Logging

Schneider Electric PLC logs weld parameters, cycle times, and part counts for every weld-supporting PPAP documentation and statistical process control requirements.

FAQ

Which robot brands are compatible?

The system supports major 6-axis industrial robot brands. The Schneider Electric PLC communicates with the robot controller via Ethernet. Contact us with your preferred robot brand and payload/reach requirements for a tailored integration plan.

How does the vision-based seam tracking work?

A camera mounted on the robot arm scans the joint before and during welding. The system detects the actual seam position and adjusts the weld path in real time-compensating for part-to-part variation of up to ±2mm without manual reprogramming.

What laser power options are available?

The standard configuration uses a 2000W fiber laser source. The system supports 1500W to 3000W laser sources depending on your material thickness requirements. Contact us to select the optimal power for your application.

Does the safety enclosure meet CE standards?

Yes. The fully enclosed safety cell with interlocked doors and laser-safe viewing windows is designed to meet European CE laser safety standards. This allows unattended 24/7 operation without additional facility-level laser safety measures.

What training and support are provided?

Every system includes technical documentation, operation manuals, remote troubleshooting, and operator training. Robot programming training is also provided. Installation guidance and commissioning support are available. Contact us for service terms in your region.
