Structural fabricator: handrail tube and plate brackets off one 3000W platform
Who: a structural steel fabricator producing handrail and balustrade sections, one shift plus overtime. Machine: Xinhong 3000W tube and plate fiber laser cutting machine. Problem it solved: rectangular tube was cut on a bandsaw and then drilled on a separate press, while the connecting plates were cut by an outside supplier, so one handrail batch touched three different setups. Before: saw-cut tube ends were square but not notched, drilling was a second operation, and plate brackets depended on a subcontractor schedule. Now: mitred and notched tube ends plus the mating plate profiles come off one machine in one nesting run. Where the numbers come from: the 3000W tube-and-plate specification sheet plus the fabricator's own sample run on its standard 60 x 40 mm tube; the cycle-time figure is the shop's stopwatch result and has to be re-measured per batch.
Application based on customer feedback; individual results depend on materials and production conditions.
