Shared workshop: cutting zone enclosed so access control is physical, not procedural
Who: a shared fabrication workshop running fiber laser cutting with operators, forklifts and visitors in the same hall. Machine: Xinhong laser safety enclosure and protective cabin. Problem it solved: open laser cutting in a shared space relies on procedural controls - signage, barriers and training - that only work when everyone follows them. Before: the shop managed exposure with floor markings and an operator-enforced exclusion zone. Now: the cutting zone is physically enclosed, with EN 12254-compliant OD 6+ polycarbonate windows and fail-safe magnetic door interlocks per the product specification, so access control no longer depends on vigilance alone. Where the numbers come from: the enclosure product specification and the workshop's own risk assessment update after installation; conformity documentation is supplied with the machine and should be reviewed with your local safety advisor.
Application based on customer feedback; individual results depend on materials and production conditions.
