Kitchen equipment contract manufacturer: 304 sink blanks cut in-house on 6000W
Who: a contract manufacturer of stainless kitchen equipment in Western Europe, roughly 40 staff on two shifts. Machine: Xinhong 6000W fiber laser cutting machine with nitrogen assist, 2000 x 6000 mm bed. Problem it solved: 1.5-6 mm AISI 304 sink and panel blanks had to be split between an ageing CO2 machine and an outside subcontractor. Before: CO2 with oxygen assist left oxidised edges that needed pickling and grinding, and anything above 3 mm went out, adding roughly a week to planning. Now: 304 blanks up to 6 mm are cut on-site with nitrogen assist, so edges reach bending and welding without a pickling step. Where the numbers come from: machine specification sheet (6000W, 2000 x 6000 mm bed, +/-0.05 mm positioning) plus the buyer's own sample-cut report on their 304 sheet; the lead-time change is the buyer's planning input and has to be re-measured on their floor rather than treated as a guaranteed figure.
Application based on customer feedback; individual results depend on materials and production conditions.
