Two-shift carbon steel shop: cartridges stay online with pulse-jet cleaning
Who: a carbon steel job shop in Central Europe running two shifts on a 6 kW fiber laser, about 20 staff. Machine: Xinhong laser cutting fume extraction and dust removal system, 3,000-10,000 m3/h suction capacity, 4-stage filtration with H13 HEPA and automatic pulse-jet cartridge cleaning. Problem it solved: the shop's first extractor was undersized, and cartridges blinded within weeks under heavy carbon steel duty, forcing manual cleaning and mid-shift stoppages. Before: weekly manual cartridge cleaning, visible haze during 16 mm plate runs, and complaints from neighbouring tenants. Now: pulse-jet cleaning keeps cartridges online automatically and the pressure-triggered cleaning cycle is logged by the system. Where the numbers come from: the extraction product specification (3,000-10,000 m3/h, 4-stage filtration, H13 HEPA, automatic pulse-jet cleaning, VFD blower) and the shop's own maintenance log; cartridge life in their duty cycle is tracked in that log and must be verified per site.
Application based on customer feedback; individual results depend on materials and production conditions.
